Fall Reading

My wonderful and smart friends have two new books coming out this month that you should add to your fall reading list:

Courtney Martin’s Do It Anyway: The New Generation of Activists was published on September 7. You can order it from the publisher and be sure to check out the accompanying website. Courtney is smart and funny, and the book is bound to be great.

The wonderfully talented and feisty Gloria Feldt also has a new book coming out this month. Titled No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change the Way We Think About Power, it will be available on September 28 and can be pre-ordered now. Gloria is also wicked smart and this book promises to change the way we talk about women and power.

Finally, a shameless plug: if you are lucky enough to live in Kansas City, you can see Gloria and Courtney, along with Deborah Siegel and Kristal Brent Zook, at the Starr 2010 Kick-Off Conversation “Work and Life: An Intergenerational Conversation.” The event will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the University Academy. See the Starr website for details and reserve your tickets online. You’ll also be able to buy their books (as well as Debbie’s and Kristal’s) and get them signed. It’s sure to be a great night!
